Getting to Banff

The closest airport is the Calgary International Airport (YYC). From there, Banff is approximately a 1.5 hour drive.

To get to Banff you can:

  1. Rent a car at Calgary International Airport (YYC)

    • YYC has plenty of car rental options available.

    • If you are renting a car, you will need to obtain a Banff National Park Pass. These can be purchased through their website or on route to Banff at the toll booth,

  2. Utilize a shuttle service.

    • We recommend booking these in advance. The latest you can book a shuttle is 90 minutes before your departure time, but there is no guarantee that one will be available:

      • Banff Airporter: Runs hourly from 10 am to 10:30 pm.

        • We have secured a 15% discount on this daily shuttle service between the Calgary Airport and Banff. When you book this service, enter the code LEWANDBEE in the "Promo Code" section on the final payment page to receive the discount. This special rate is valid for travel dates between December 7-12th, 2023.

      • Banff Sedan: If you want to book a private shuttle, this is a great option.

Getting to and from the wedding

We have hired private shuttles for those of you not staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel to get you to and from the wedding safely. The shuttles will run from 2 locations: Moose Hotels and Suites and the Elk + Avenue Hotel.

At the end of the night, the shuttles will take you back to these two hotels. Banff does not have Uber or Lyft, and has limited cabs. Please plan accordingly!

Pickup times:

2:00PM, 2:20PM, 2:40PM, 3:00PM

The shuttles will drop you off in front of the Fairmont’s Motorcoach entrance.

Departure times:

10:30 PM until 2:15 AM
Departing every 30 minutes from in front of the Fairmont’s Motorcoach entrance.

If you would prefer to get to and from the Fairmont yourself, here are your options:

  • Book a cab to bring you to and from the Fairmont. We recommend booking your cab in advance. which you can do here. There is no Uber or Lyft in Banff, so be sure to plan ahead!

  • Take advantage of the local buses that run in Banff. Route 2 runs to and from the Fairmont to downtown Banff. Keep in mind that the last bus leaves at 11:20PM from the Fairmont. For more information, check out their schedule here.

  • Drive to the hotel and park your car overnight. You can park for $32/night. Check out the Fairmont Banff website for more parking information.
